Note to Providers:

You do not need to be fluent in Spanish to use this book effectively. What matters most is a willingness to model communication using simple words, repetition, and visual support. AAC best-practice guidance emphasizes consistent, multimodal modeling to support language access, even when adults are learning alongside the child.

*The goal of these materials is not to replace bilingual expertise, but to provide accessible modeling opportunities during shared reading and everyday routines. A therapist may choose to model a few meaningful words, support participation, and honor the child’s home language while continuing to collaborate with bilingual colleagues, interpreters, or native speakers whenever possible.

With a mix of core words and sensory-based vocabulary, the boards support natural modeling, GLP-style phrasing, and shared moments of connection during play. Communication partners may choose to use/model only sensory descriptors if they wish to stay within one folder for ease of navigation and to support motor planning.

The boards support simple, intentional modeling of body parts and/or action vocabulary during reading and movement.
